User eXperience Lab
The User eXperience (UX) Lab of the Human-Centred Intelligent System Research Macroarea focuses on evaluating and improving the user experience of intelligent interactive systems.
What Is Done in the UX Lab
The Human-Centred Technologies and Machine Intelligence Lab as well as the Physical Computing Lab can provide functional prototypes for user experience testing in the UX Lab.
In the UX lab, users can interact with these prototypes, and researchers can collect and process quantitative user-experience data. Results of data processing help in further developing the prototypes in the aforementioned labs, or revising their the ideation in the Collaborative Design and Ideation Lab of the macroarea.
This iterative process allows for continuous improvements of the user experience. Moreover, it ensures a cohesive user experience across both the physical and digital aspects of the systems under development.
Equipment
The lab is equipped with an iMotions software system allowing to collect and analyze human behavior data through
- eye tracking,
- galvanic skin response,
- facial expression analysis,
- EEG, EMG, and ECG
on one convenient platform and related devices to measure these signals.
